Information & Networking

We use our excellent relationships with economic development agencies and players from politics, research, and business to create the best possible synergies for the industry with our network. To this end, we repeatedly invite people to the BB-Energy Talks, which are popular in the industry, and see ourselves as a multiplier and platform for the goals of the energy transition in the region - not least with the "Climate Neutral Berlin Brandenburg" initiative, our podcast formats and media activities.

Climate-neutral Berlin

Berlin has set itself the goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2045. The extensive use of solar energy is an important component of this, as it accounts for a significant portion of the city's renewable energy potential.

Studies conducted by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) as part of the Solarcity master plan show that a solar power share of 25 percent is possible in Berlin. To achieve this goal, solar plants with a capacity of about 4,400 megawatts must be placed on Berlin's roofs.

In this context, BEN is cooperating with the coordination office Masterplan Solarcity, which has been managing the implementation of the master plan since August 1, 2020. The coordination office Masterplan Solarcity regularly conducts a comprehensive monitoring of the implementation of the measures of the Masterplan Solarcity.
