BEN member Berliner Stadtwerke takes over 530 public charging stations

With the takeover of around 530 public charging stations by Berliner Stadt-
werke as of July 16, the expansion of Berlin’s charging infrastructure enters a new phase.

Cooperation with Berlin’s districts to set up new charging stations has already begun. This has been preceded for months by a search for potential new locations, the results of which are being coordinated with the district administrations. The aim is to set up a total of 1,800 “normal charging points” (generally two 11 kW AC charging points per station) and a further 200 HPC fast charging points with at least 150 kW per charging point at locations with eight to twelve charging points each by 2030. One to two of these fast-charging locations are to be built in each district.

Berliner Stadtwerke will also be responsible for supplying the charging stations with 100% green electricity.
